Hi Everyone!
I hope all is well with all of you!
We are great here! Just want to give you a bit of a curriculum update. In math, we are going to start long division. Although it will take a bit of practice to get to mastery, I know the kids will run with it. As the children begin to understand and feel comfortable with the division, I will be sure to differentiate the problems they are solving.
In writing, we are starting to learn expository writing, or the 5 paragraph essay. Specifically right now, we are working on creating clear and distinct main ideas. Eventually, the children will be able to create clear and well-written essays.
We continue to read our book club books and work on our reading comprehension skills.
In Social Studies, we started a project that has the children doing an in-depth study of a part of the Southeast region. The children are researching a topic of their choice and will present it to the class. We are busy as you can see!
In the last couple of weeks the children haven't been as consistent in bringing in their reading logs. Any reminders tonight will be helpful. Thank you!
Finally, I have one request. As allergy season is so tough this year, we are out of tissues again! Any boxes you could send in, as well as cleaning wipes, would be so appreciated.
