Welcome to Team 244!
In Reader's Workshop, together we have been reading Ramona Quimby Age 8 and have been strengthening our connections to the text. We have also been enjoying Current Events, when we read Time for Kids and discuss the news of our world.
During Math Workshop we finished our fraction topic and learned probability, which we really enjoyed! We also worked on elapsed time and wrote our own story problems. Recently, we have been working with money. We even used real restaurant menus to find total amounts and how to make change by counting up. Next we will be learning about capacity.
Students should know their 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 10 multiplication tables. They should continue to practice these facts nightly, as well as work on cementing the other tables.
In Writing we have been working on strong, meaningful conclusions. We will soon be publishing a mini-memoir that focuses on an important event in out life.
In Social Studies, we have been studying maps. We created our own towns! We made maps with a legend and even calculated distances between landmarks using a map scale.
We continue to take more risks every day and enjoy learning with one another.
