Welcome to Fourth Grade!
I am Mrs. Marchetti and am so excited about sharing a year of fun-filled learning together.
This year we will journey through the regions of the United States as we learn about the amazing features and attractions our own magnificent country has to offer. In science, we will do many experiments as we investigate living organisms, the mystery of the water cycle, the power of force, motion and friction as well as how magnetism and electricity impact our lives. As a math thinker, you will challenge yourself with fractions and geometry as well as master double-digit multiplication and long division. You will compose wonderful narrative stories, insightful expository essays, and many descriptive poems. The world of reading will open up through our read aloud, book clubs, and independent choices as we delve into fascinating novels and nonfiction books.
As a member of the class you will take part in our classroom mini economy, Marchettiville. You will fill out a job application, receive paychecks, choose whether or not to buy insurance, shop at our classroom store, and even have the opportunity to run your own store.
I look forward to meeting you at the Open House on August 31st. Until then, enjoy the final days of summer vacation. I am eager to hear about your many adventures and experiences.
